Should I get a Thread Lift?

I don’t personally perform Thread Lifts. I did the training and felt like the down time seemed fairly severe, and the results were probably not worth the effort for the patient. I have colleagues who do lots of thread lifts and rave about their patient outcomes. I trust the information from some of these colleagues, and if a thread lift was worth trying then I would send you to them.

You see the thing with thread lifts - there are only a few select cases in which I feel they would be useful. I am extremely confident with my ability to use other techniques that are more cost and downtime efficient. The results are not long lasting and I have seen a handful of complications over the years that I just don’t think are worth venturing into, such as visible cogs under the skin or one side of the face collapsing compared to the other.

I think a thread lift should be used only after great volumisation. The patient needs to be experienced in cosmetic treatments and have had complete re-volumisation with dermal filler or biostimulator. Then a minimalist approach should be used, only to lift the areas that truly need it so as to minimise the downtime and also the exposure to a technique that does come with complications that are difficult to navigate out of.
